Samsung’s fall line up of devices are now official and include the Galaxy Note 20 smartphone series, the Galaxy Tab S7 tablet series, the Galaxy Buds Live truly wireless earbuds, the Galaxy Watch 3, and the Galaxy Z Fold 2 foldable device.
Samsung announced the new products in a live stream only launch event Wednesday, confirming many long-circulating rumors. Here’s a rundown of specs, price, and release details for everything unveiled.
Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Series
Samsung’s latest flagship smartphones now include the Galaxy Note 20 and Galaxy Note Ultra, which will be available for preorder starting August 6 and will go on sale starting August 21.
Both devices support 5G connectivity thanks to the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 Plus chip (or Samsung Exynos 990 chip in certain markets), but Samsung has included intricate details to differentiate the two models. The Galaxy Note 20 Ultra features a curved edge 6.9-inch 120Hz display and the standard Galaxy Note 20 features a flat 6.7-inch 60hz display.
The Galaxy Note 20 Ultra also features 12GB RAM and 256GB and 512GB UFS 3.1 storage options, a triple camera set up with a 12-megapixel ultrawide lens, a 108-megapixel wide-angle lens, and a 12-megapixel telephoto lens, as well as a 10-megapixel dual-lens front camera, a 4,500mAh battery and Android 10. With a glass back panel, the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra will be available in Mystic Bronze, Mystic Black, and Mystic White color options with a starting price of $1299.
The standard Galaxy Note 20 features 8GB of RAM and 128GB internal storage, a triple camera set up with a 12-megapixel ultrawide lens, a 12-megapixel wide-angle lens, and a 64-megapixel telephoto lens, as well as a 10-megapixel dual-lens front camera, a 4,300 battery and Android 10. With an etched reinforced polycarbonate back panel, the Galaxy Note 20 will be available in Mystic Bronze, Mystic Green, and Mystic Gray color options with a starting price of $999.
Other feature highlights include the Bluetooth Low Energy S-Pen, which includes a 0.7mm diameter tip with 4096 pressure points, IP68 water, and dust resistance rating, and protection from the latest Gorilla Glass Victus coating.
Samsung Galaxy Tab S7 Series
Samsung’s latest flagship tablets include the Galaxy Tab S7 and the Galaxy Tab S7 Plus, which will be available for preorder starting August 6 and will go on sale starting August 21.
With connectivity including 5G, 4G, Wi-Fi 6, and Wi-Fi direct and a Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 Plus chip for each version, display and battery differences separate the two models.
The Galaxy Tab S7 Plus features a 12.4-inch 120hz display and a 10,090mAh battery. The standard Galaxy Tab S7 features an 11-inch 120hz display and an 8,000mAh battery with the same charging capacity.
Both models include 6GB, and 8GB RAM options and 128GB and 256GB internal storage options with microSD expansion up to 1TB, a dual rear camera set up with a 13-megapixel main lens and 5-megapixel ultra-wide lens plus flash, and an 8-megapixel front camera.
Other features and accessories include 45W USB-C fast charging, an in-display fingerprint sensor, a Bluetooth LE S-Pen with 9ms latency, and a Book Cover and Book Cover keyboard.
With Mystic Black, Mystic Bronze, and Mystic Silver color options, the Galaxy Tab S7 and the Galaxy Tab S7 Plus will sell starting at $649.99 and $849.99, respectively.
Samsung Galaxy Buds Live
The Galaxy Buds Live are Samsung’s first truly wireless earbuds that also support Active Noise Cancellation. Samsung has notably designed these earbuds with its internal components set up horizontally, which determined their bean shape. The Galaxy Buds Live also has an outer touchpad for controlling music and other important functions.
Hardware includes a 12mm AKG-tuned speaker with a bass duct, in addition to three microphones and a dedicated voice pick up unit for maximizing call quality, to drown out background noise by up to 90 percent. Each bud includes a 60mAh battery, which supports up to 6 hours of audio playback. The 472mAh battery in its charging case brings power up to another 21 hours and also supports Qi wireless charging.
The Galaxy Buds Live are eco friendly, made of recycled materials, and are rated IPX2 for a bit of water resistance. The earbuds will be available starting August 6, priced at $169 with color options including Mystic Black, Mystic Bronze, and Mystic White.
Samsung Galaxy Watch 3
Samsung’s latest smartwatch option comes in 41mm and 45mm size options and Mystic Bronze and Mystic Silver color options. Both models are available in a Stainless Steel ring and leather strap design, while the 45mm will also be available with a Titanium ring and metal strap.
The Galaxy Watch 3 hardware includes a 360×360 AMOLED Always-on display with a Gorilla Glass DX coating, a Samsung Exynos 9110 chip, 1GB of RAM 8GB of internal storage, a 247mAh battery (41mm) or 340mAh (45mm), and the Tizen OS 5.5 software.
Other feature highlights include the rotating Bezel, home, and back buttons, 5ATM, IP68, MIL-STD 810G ratings for durability, an optical heart rate sensor, and an electrical heart sensor.
The Galaxy Watch 3 will be available starting August 6 starting at $399.99 for the Bluetooth 41mm model. The 45mm LTE model will sell for $479.99.
Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2
Samsung also teased the Galaxy Z Fold 2, which will be available for preorder starting September 1. The next-generation foldable can currently be reserved, which allows interested customers to sign up for more information and likely also discounts when the device goes on sale.
The Galaxy Z Fold 2 features a 6.23-inch HD+ Super AMOLED Infinity-O outer display with a 60Hz refresh rate, 25:9 aspect ratio, and HDR10+ support as well as a 7.6-inch FHD+ Dynamic AMOLED Infinity-O inner display with a 120Hz refresh rate, 5:4 aspect ratio, Dynamic refresh rate, and HDR10+ support.
Its hardware includes a Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 Plus chip, 12GB LPDDR5 RAM, and 256GB of internal storage, a 4,500 mAh battery with 25W wired fast charging, 11W wireless charging, and reverse wireless charging and Android 10 with a One UI overlay.
The Galaxy Z Fold 2 camera system includes a triple rear with 12-megapixel main, ultra-wide-angle, and telephoto, as well as a 10-megapixel front camera for both folded and unfolded states.
Samsung hasn’t yet shared price details for the Galaxy Z Fold 2 but it likely won’t be a cheap device considering the original Galaxy Fold was $1980.
