Nubia has announced its latest gaming smartphone, the Red Magic 6R, which will go on sale June 24th, with availability in North America, Europe, Asia Pacific, the Middle East and Latin America. The device originally released in China in late May as a limited edition product.
The Red Magic 6R will be available in two models, an 8GB RAM and 128GB internal storage option in a cosmos black color option, selling for $499 (€499, £429) and a 12GB RAM and 256GB internal storage option in a mercury silver color option, selling for $599 (€599, £519).
The Red Magic 6R is a lower-cost follow up to the Red Magic 6 series, which launched in March. The Red Magic 6R swap out some more powerful specs, such as larger RAM, storage, and battery capacity, to level out the price. However, it maintains some solid features, such as a display with a high refresh rate and a quad camera, while the Red Magic 6 and Red Magic 6 Pro have triple camera setups.
The Red Magic 6R features a 6.67-inch FHD+ display with a 144Hz refresh rate and in-display fingerprint sensor, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 chip, the aforementioned LPDDR5 and UFS3.1, a 4,200mAh battery with 30W quick charge, and Android 11 with a RedMagic OS 4.0 overlay.
Its camera setup includes a 64-megapixel wide angle lens, an 8-megapixel ultrawide angle lens, a 2-megapixel macro lens, and a 5-megapixel depth sensor. Its front camera is a 16-megapixel wide angle lens.
Other notable features on the Red Magic 6R include its USB 3,1, Dual Nano-SIM slot, 5G, Wi-Fi 6E 2×2 MIMO, Bluetooth 5.2, NFC, HDMI, in addition to a headphone back, 400Hz Shoulder Trigger Buttons, Vapor Chamber Liquid-cooling, and SGS-certification for blue light reduction.
