“OnePlus Nord CE 5G Includes a Massive Battery, Fast Charging, and Gamer Display”

OnePlus has announced the latest smartphone in its low-cost Nord line, the OnePlus Nord CE 5G, which will be available for the Indian and European markets starting June 21.

The device is currently available for preorder on Amazon UK and on the mobile carrier, Three starting June 11. Its 8GB RAM and 128GB internal storage model selling for £299 ($420) and its 12GB RAM and 256GB internal storage model selling for £369 ($520).

The CE in the device’s name supposedly stands for ‘Core Edition,’ according to reports prior to launch. Much like the the ethos of the Nord line as a whole, the the device appears to be OnePlus’ returning to its roots as a brand bringing the latest specs at affordable prices.

“The Never Settle spirit drives us to provide a better experience relative to what’s available in any price segment,” OnePlus Founder and CEO, Pete Lau said in a statement.

“Nord CE is the newest addition to the OnePlus Nord product line that delivers a great everyday experience while maintaining the OnePlus quality that users have come to love,” he added.

The OnePlus Nord CE 5G features a 6.43-inch FHD+ display with a 90Hz refresh rate, 20:9 aspect ratio, 410ppi, and an in display fingerprint sensor, a Qualcomm Snapdragon Snapdragon 750G chip, a 4,500mAh battery with Warp Charge 30T support that charging from 0 to 70 percent in 30 minutes, Android 11 software with an OxygenOS 11 overlay. It will also come with including two years’ worth of software updates and three years of security updates, OnePlus said.

For its triple camera set up, the OnePlus Nord CE 5G features a 48-megapixel main lens, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide lens lens, and a 2-megapixel macro lens. Its front facing camera is a 16-megapixel wide-angle lens, set in a hole punch in the top-left corner of the display.

Design-wise, the OnePlus Nord CE 5G favors, the original OnePlus Nord with its light reflected stripes and vertical camera module, at a time when many manufacturers are opting for a square set up. The device will be available in Blue Void, Charcoal Ink, and Silver Ray color options.

The device of course supports 5G. It also includes a 3.5mm headphone jack, and a USB-C charging port. However, it does not support microSD expansion.
