Samsung has confirmed that it will host a virtual Galaxy Unpacked launch event on August 11.
The smartphone manufacturer shared on Tuesday that the unveiling event will take place at 7 a.m. PT (10 a.m. ET). The media invite image has the tagline “Get ready to unfold,” which leads many to believe that the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and the Galaxy Z Flip 3 will be announced, or at least will be the stars of the show.
Rumors indicate that Samsung also plans to announce the Galaxy S21 FE, Galaxy Watch 4, Galaxy Watch 4 Classic, and Galaxy Buds 2 in a grand showcase.
Some highlight specs on the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and the Galaxy Z Flip 3 include the more durable “Ultra-thin glass” Samsung now uses on its foldables. Some color options that have been linked to the Galaxy Z Fold 3 include black, dark green, and pink. The device is also expected to have on-board S-Pen stylus support. Meanwhile, leaks show the Galaxy Z Flip 3 with a clamshell design and dual-tone colors. It is likely the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and the Galaxy Z Flip 3 will be more affordable than older foldable models, in order to make them more accessible.
Samsung has also posted a Reserve Now page for the Unpacked launch, which will give those who register ahead of the unveiling an opportunity to take advantage of many special deals and discounts. This, however, is different from a preorder, which Samsung is apt to give details on during the product unveiling.
Some of the deals include $200 of extra trade-in credit when trading in older devices, the first 12 months of Samsung Care+ included with purchase, and other offers towards Galaxy products during pre-order.
