As Samsung’s Galaxy Unpacked launch event approaches in a matter of days, leaks continue to give a detailed look at the products that are expected to be unveiled at the event.
Most recently, is the Galaxy Z Fold 3, which has had its specs and official press renders revealed before the launch event. Informants, including Roland Quandt of WinFuture and Snoopy have shared a range of details for the device, which is Samsung’s third-generation full-size foldable.
According to the leaked specs, the Galaxy Z Fold 3 features a 7.6-inch inner display with a 2260 x 830 Super AMOLED resolution and 120Hz refresh rate and a Gorilla Glass Victus coating. The outer display will be 6.2-inches and will have a 2260 x 830 Super AMOLED resolution and will likely also have a 120Hz refresh rate. Powering the device is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 chip, 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM, and 256GB or 512GB options of UFS 3.1 flash storage, in addition to a 4,400mAh battery with 25W fast wired charging and wireless charging support.
The rear camera setup on the Galaxy Z Fold 3 is expected to include three 12-megapixel lenses, the main lens with f/1.8 aperture, 78-degree FoV, OIS, 1.4um pixel size, an ultra-wide-angle lens with f/2.2 aperture, 123-degree FoV, 1.12um pixel size, and a telephoto lens with f/2.4 aperture, OIS, 1.0um pixel size. The inner camera is a 4-megapixel lens with an f/1.8 aperture, 2.0um pixel size that is outfitted under the device’s display. There is yet another camera on the front cover, a 10-megapixel lens shooter, with an f/2.2 aperture and 1.22um pixel size.
Other specs on the Galaxy Z Fold 3 will likely include a side-facing fingerprint scanner, Dolby Atmos support with stereo speakers, IPX8 rating water and dust resistance, 4K video recording, and 8K video playback.
For connectivity, the device is expected to support two nano-SIM cards and an eSIM, 5G, as well as Bluetooth 5.0 and Bluetooth 5.2.
Color options for the Galaxy Z Fold 3 are expected to be Phantom Black, Phantom Green, and Phantom Silver. Culminating the design, specs are its measurements, which are 158.2 x 128.1 x 6.4mm open and 158.2 x 67.1 x 14.4mm closed. The handset weighs 271g.
The Galaxy Z Fold 3 is set to be announced on August 11 alongside a host of other Samsung devices, including the Galaxy Z Flip 3, Galaxy S21 FE, Galaxy Watch 4, Galaxy Watch 4 Classic, and Galaxy Buds 2.
