“Pixel 5a Price and Specs Leak After Google’s Pixel 6 Reveal”

While Google may be sharing details about the Pixel 6 series of its own accord, leaksters have quickly gotten a hold of specs pertaining to the Pixel 5a.

The mid-year device could be announced as soon as August 26, if reports from FrontPageTech’s Jon Prosser are to be believed. The informant shared a feature rundown for the device and claims the smartphone will sell for $450 at launch, a $50 discount from the Pixel 4a 5G, which was released in 2020.

The Pixel 5a will reportedly feature a Mostly Black color option, a 6.4-inch display with a refresh rate between 60Hz and 90Hz, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G chip, 6GB of RAM, and a 4650mAh battery.

Prosser said the 5a is set to have the same camera setup as the Pixel 5, which is a dual-camera set up with a 12.2-megapixel main lens with ƒ/1.7 aperture and a 77-degree field of view and a 16-megapixel ultrawide lens with ƒ/2.2 aperture and a 107-degree field of view, in addition to an 8-megapixel front camera with ƒ/2.0 aperture and an 83-degree field of view.

The device is not expected to feature wireless charging, which may aid in its lower price. It is also expected to be IP67 rated and will have a 3.5mm headphone jack.

Once available, the Pixel 5a may be available only in the U.S. and Japan, online and at Google Stores. Notably, Google recently opened its first retail location in Chelsea, NYC in June. There could be some wonder if a new location will soon open in Japan.
