The Samsung Galaxy S21 FE could be official in a little over one week’s time according to recent reports.
After Samsung’s big Galaxy Unpacked event came and went in mid-August without the budget smartphone, tech informant, Mauri QHD learned from a Samsung representative that the Galaxy S21 FE may now be unveiled in its own launch on September 8.
There have been several clues that the Galaxy S21 FE is ready for release, including its certification at Bluetooth SIG, the FCC, and China’s TENAA.
Media reports claim that the smartphone was in fact, intended to launch alongside the Galaxy Z Fold 3, and Galaxy Z Flip 3 on August 11 as rumors claimed, but was held up due to various supply chain issues; chip shortages, in particular. However, if the Galaxy S21 FE is now on track for launch, it could be available for pre-order by mid-month and for commercial release in late-September, according to SamMobile.
There have been a fair amount of rumors circulating about the Galaxy S21 FE. Samsung leaked an official image of the device to its social media channels just prior to its August Galaxy Unpacked event, all but confirming the existence of the smartphone. Detailed specs for the handset have also been circulating for weeks and months.
The Galaxy S21 FE may feature a 6.5-inch Full HD+ display with a 120Hz refresh rate, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 chip, 6GB and 8GB RAM options, 128GB and 256GB internal storage options, a 4,500mAh battery with 45W charging support, and Android 11.
It is also expected to feature a triple rear camera with a 12-megapixel main lens, 12-megapixel ultrawide camera, and an 8-megapixel or 12-megapixel telephoto camera, as well as a 32-megapixel front-facing camera.
Other notable features for the Galaxy S21 FE may include Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.0, NFC, Wireless Power Transfer, an in-display fingerprint reader, IP68 rating, stereo speakers, and possibly also wireless charging.
Availability is expected in the U.S., Europe, and Mexico, though markets overall may be limited. Leaks have also revealed that Samsung plans to offer a free YouTube Premium deal with the purchase of a Galaxy S21 FE handset.
