The Apple Watch Series 7 is now official, having been announced among Apple’s fall updates of products and services at its keynote event on Tuesday.
Apple detailed a number of new features for the smartwatch, including a larger display, new watch faces, new software with a host of updated fitness support, a longer battery life, and several design options.
The wearable won’t be available until later this fall, but the brand has revealed that the Apple Watch Series 7 will start at $399, joining the Apple Watch SE at $279, and the Apple Watch Series 3 at $199 as part of Apple’s full lineup.

WatchOS 8
The Apple Watch Series 7 is releasing with WatchOS 8, which will include a number of function highlights, including its cycling Update, which will detect when you begin riding, will remind you to start a workout and will pause and resume when you stop temporarily.

Similar to how wearables have advanced to differentiate between the brisk walk for exercise and a leisurely stroll, WatchOS 8 will be able to help determine different states of riding, including fall detection and e-bike support, with better tracking of calories burned.
These features are added to updates of Apple’s standard repertoire of apps, including the Mindfulness app, Memories, and Photos.

The Apple Watch Series 7 has seen a 20 percent increase to its screen area, with 1.7mm thinner bezels, a 70 percent brighter display indoors, and softer, more rounded corners.

Apps on the new smartwatch have also been apps optimized for in accordance with larger display size, fitting percent more text on screen, in addition to a full keyboard. Users can tap to type or use the QuickPath swipe function to input text.

Apple has also introduced several new watch faces for the Series 7, including Dynamic Contour and Modular.
With a front crystal panel, Apple is calling crack-resistant, the brand said the Apple Watch Series 7 is the most durable wearable it has ever released. It is also rated WR50 for water resistance and IPX6 for water and dust resistance.
Battery
Apple said the Series 7 boasts an 18-hour battery life and charges 33 percent faster than the Series 6. From this users can expect a 45-minute charge to increase battery power by 45 percent, while an 8-minute charge can support 8-hours of sleep tracking.
Design
The Apple Watch Series 7 will be available in five colors, midnight, starlight, green, blue, product red, in its standard aluminum finish.

Additionally, it will be available in a stainless steel finish in silver, graphite, and gold color options, and a titanium finish in natural and space black color options.
The Series 7 will also maintain compatibility with all existing watch bands.
Apple Fitness Plus
The Apple Fitness Plus has also gotten a number of upgrades. It is already available in six countries, and will soon be available in fifteen countries. While the content is available in English, there are subtitles for six languages.
Apple Fitness Plus provides over 1200 workouts from 5 to 45 minutes in 4K UHD with new content dropping every week.
Users can see various metrics while working out with Apple Fitness Plus, including heart rate, calories burned, heart increased rate for intervals, celebrations when activity rings close.

Some highlighted fitness programs include Time to walk, Pilates, Meditation, Workouts to get ready for the snow season.
A new workout feature for Apple Fitness Plus is Group Workouts, powered by share play, which allows multiple users to work out together and share screens as they exercise. The function is compatible with iPhone, iPad, and Apple TV via AirPlay.
Apple Fitness Plus pricing remains the same at $9.99 per month and $79.99 annually. New subscribers get a one-month free trial, while those purchasing a new Apple Watch get three months free. Those with an Apple One Premier subscription get a completely free subscription to Apple Fitness Plus.
