Smartphones in the OnePlus, Oppo, and Realme families are expected to feature 125W fast wired charging when they release in 2022.
Devices already rumored for release with the feature, include the Oppo Find X4 series; however, leakster Mukul Sharma recently shared on Twitter, details of other handsets that might include the fast-charging upgrade.
These devices include the Realme GT2 Pro, OnePlus 10 Pro, and Oppo Reno8 Pro. There is also an unnamed Oppo N-branded device that is expected to include the 125W fast charging feature, according to the leak. The devices are all set to release within the first half of 2022.
Having originally introduced its 125W fast charging technology in 2020, Oppo said it would be able to charge a device with a 4,000mAh battery from 0 to 100 percent in 20 minutes. Additionally, it said it would add 41-percent power in a five-minute charge. However, some of the abovementioned devices are already slated to have larger batteries, so it will be interesting to see how the fast charging marketing pans out from device to device.
The OnePlus 10 Pro, for example, is rumored to have a 5,000mAh battery. Rumors suggest it might include fast charging but have not indicated what kind.
Media are of course comparing the prospective BBK electronics 125W fast charging feature to Xiaomi’s 120W fast charging feature, which was announced and released this year. Xiaomi unveiled the system on the Xiaomi 11T series, claiming it can charge its top-line handsets, which house 5,000mAh batteries, from 0 to 100 percent in 21 minutes.
Already well known for its fast-charging technology, Xiaomi previously introduced its 80W wireless charging in 2020, with the ability to go from 0 to 100 percent in 19 minutes.
