New reports divulging details about the OnePlus Nord CE 2 5G have come directly from the brand, indicating when the device might be announced.
OnePlus recently shared a marketing spot on social media channels, including YouTube, highlighting some primary features of the device, including its 3.5mm audio jack, microSD expansion up to 1TB, and 65W SuperVOOC charging.
The brand also revealed that the OnePlus Nord CE 2 5G would be announced next Thursday on February 17.
This back up prior claims from a few weeks prior that OnePlus has several mobile products set for release in February. Another device expected to release in February is the OnePlus Nord N20.
Other sources including Twitter leaksters Ishan Agarwal and Yogesh Brar have shared shared other specs details about the OnePlus Nord CE 2 5G. OnePlus has confirmed that the device will run the MediaTek Dimensity 900 chipset.
Meanwhile, the device is expected to feature a 6.43-inch FHD+ display with a 90Hz refresh rate and Gorilla Glass 5 protection, 6GB and 8GB RAM options, 128GB UFS2.2 storage, a 4,500mAh battery, and Android 11 software with and OxygenOS 11.3 overplay, and an in-display fingerprint sensor.
Its rear triple camera set up will likely include a 64-megapixel main lens, an 8 megapixel ultra wide lens, and a 2-megapixel macro sensor, plus a 16-megapixel front facing lens.
The device is also set to get at least two major Android system updates and three years of security updates in its lifetime.
The OnePlus Nord CE 2 5G is expected to come in Black and Blue color option with the latter likely called “Bahamas Blue.”
There is word that the OnePlus Nord CE 2 5G is a rebranded Oppo Reno7 SE, with a camera upgrade. That device featured similar specs and was announced in November 2021 with primary availability in China. The Oppo Reno7 SE camera set up includes a 48-megapixel main camera lens, a 2-megapixel macro sensor, and a 2-megapixel depth sensor.
Meanwhile, the rebranding also indicates that the device will have a different market focus. Brar has suggested that India will be the primary market for the OnePlus Nord CE 2 5G. Additionally, the chipset announcement was shared by OnePlus’ India Instagram channel.
Prospective prices are expected to be INR24,000 ($315/€280) for the 6GB RAM models and INR28,000 for the 8GB RAM model ($370/€325).
