So many details are available about the upcoming Pixel Fold it seems like the only thing left is to see a real-life version of the device.
Luckily, a recent leak has surfaced just a week ahead of the May 10 announcement of the Pixel Fold at the Google I/O developer’s conference. Twitter leakster, Kuba Wojciechowski shared on Friday, a short live clip of the Pixel Fold being handled. The six-second clip just shows the foldable being closed and opened, with several Google-esque icons in the notification bar, but Wojciechowski is certain this is the first up-close live-video leak of the Pixel Fold that has circulated on the web.
While there have been several image leaks of the Pixel Fold, they have been CAD-renders based on potential schematics for the device, plastic mockups, and blurry in-the-wild image captures of the device. This leak gives a clear and open view of the device, such as its front and internal cameras, as well as its front and internal displays, though the contents of the internal display are blurred.
The creasing, while slight is hard to miss. The Pixel Fold does notably resemble the Oppo Find N in terms of its taller aspect ratio; however, the Oppo foldable is also known for its creaseless design.
Earlier on Friday, Front Page Tech host Jon Prosser revealed a pricing, pre-order, and launch schedule for the Pixel Fold, indicating that the device might be available for pre-order as early as Wednesday, April 26th ahead of the Google I/O developer’s conference on May 10.
In terms of pricing, Prosser claims the device will come in two models, a 256GB storage option, that will sell in chalk and obsidian colors at $1,799, and a 512GB storage option that will sell in only an obsidian color option, at $1,919.
