The TCL 50 XE NXTPAPER 5G and TCL 50 XL NXTPAPER 5G are now available at mobile carriers in the U.S. for $149.99 and $199 respectively. The devices were first introduced as a part of the TCL 50 series at CES in January, but the TCL 50 XE NXTPAPER 5G is now available at Spectrum nationwide. The TCL 50 XL NXTPAPER 5G is available regionally at C Spire and can also be purchased for $99.99 with its activation fee waived.
These models are TCL’s first NXTPAPER smartphones for the U.S. market, using the brand’s patented NXTPAPER 3.0 display technology that provides a matte and anti-glare look to displays for improved eye comfort while maintaining a high-quality viewing experience and vibrant colors. TCL has already released other NXTPAPER tablet and smartphone models internationally to positive consumer and reviewer acclaim.
The TCL 50 XE NXTPAPER 5G features a 6.6-inch HD+ display with a 90Hz refresh rate that provides up to 61 percent blue light reduction, 4GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage with expandable storage up to 2TB, and a 5,010mAH battery. Its triple rear camera setup includes a 50-megapixel main lens, a 5-megapixel ultrawide lens, and a 2-megapixel depth lens, in addition to an 8-megapixel front camera. The device runs Android 14 software and also supports face unlock and side-mounted a fingerprint sensor for security. It comes in a Space Blue color option.
TCL 50 XL NXTPAPER 5G features a 6.8-inch FHD+ display with a 120Hz refresh rate that provides up to 61 percent blue light reduction, 6GB of RAM with virtual RAM expansion and 128GB of internal storage, and a 5,010mAH battery. Its triple rear camera setup includes a 50-megapixel main lens, a 5-megapixel ultrawide lens, and a 2-megapixel depth lens, in addition to a 32-megapixel front camera. The device runs Android 14 software and also supports NFC, face unlock, a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, and dual speakers enhanced with DTS sound. It comes in a Space Blue color option.
Other devices in the TCL 50 series include the TCL 50 XL 5G, TCL 50 LE, and the TCL 50 XE 5G. The TCL 50 LE and TCL 50 XE 5G are available at Verizon Prepaid and the TCL 50 XL 5G is available at Metro by T-Mobile.
