The Chinese smartphone brand, Honor announced its new Honor 50 series on Wednesday, which includes the standard Honor 50, the Honor 50 Pro, and the Honor 50 SE.
The device family features mid-range models, which are set to launch primarily in China, and later to other markets. North American availability for these devices is uncertain; however, an interesting staple of the Honor 50 series is its Google Mobile Services support. This will allow the devices to run such core Google apps as the Google Play Store, Google Maps, Gmail, YouTube, and Google Drive.
The three devices in the Honor 50 series have many other features in common, such as 120Hz displays and a 108-megapixel main camera lens; and the Android 11 software with Magic UI 4.2 overlay. However, that is where the models to quickly begin to diverge. The Honor 50 and the Honor 50 Pro are both powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G SoC. They will sell in First Snow Crystal, Summer Amber, Black Jade Green, and Bright black dolor options. Meanwhile, the Honor 50 SE is powered by the Mediatek Dimensity 900 chip and will sell in Bright Black, Ocean Blue, and Magic Mirror color options.
Honor 50
The Honor 50 features a 6.57-inch FHD+ OLED display, 8GB of RAM, 128GB of internal storage, and a 4,300mAh battery with 66W fasting charging. Its rear quad-camera system includes a 108-megapixel wide-angle main lens, an 8-megapixxel ultrawide lens, a 2-megapixel macro sensor, and a 2-megapixel depth sensor, while its front camera is a 32-megapixel wide-angle lens with 1080p at 30fps.
Honor 50 Pro
The Honor 50 Pro feature a 6.72-inch FHD+ OLED display, 12GB of RAM, 256GB of storage, and a 4,000mAh battery with 100W fast charging. Its rear quad-camera system includes a 108-megapixel wide-angle main lens, an 8-megapixxel ultrawide lens, a 2-megapixel macro sensor, and a 2-megapixel depth sensor, while its front-facing camera is dual lens 32-megapixel and 12-megapixel set up.
Honor 50 SE
The Honor 50 SE features a 6.78-inch FHD+ LCD display, 8GB RAM, 128GB internal storage, and a 4,000mAh battery with 66W fast charging. Its rear triple-camera system includes a 108-megapixel wide-angle main lens, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide lens, and a 2-megapixel macro sensor, in addition to a 16-megapixel front-facing camera.
Honor 50 Pricing and Release date
The Honor 50 and Honor 50 Pro will be available in China starting June 25, while the Honor 50 SE will be availability starting July 2. Preorders begin today. Other global availability includes Asian, European, and Middle Eastern countries.
The Honor 50 will sell for 2,699 CNY ($422). The Honor 50 Pro will sell for 3,699 CNY ($578). The Honor 50 SE will sell for 2,399 CNY ($375).
