“OnePlus Nord N200 5G Release Combines the Best of N100 and N105G”

The OnePlus Nord N200 5G has been announced on Tuesday as a North America exclusive device.

The 5G enabled smartphone will be available starting June 25 with its 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage model selling for $239.99 ($319.99 CAD) unlocked.

The device will be available in-store and online at Best Buy, Amazon, and B&H. For carriers, the device will also be exclusively available at T-Mobile and Metro by T-Mobile.

Quickly following the international launch of the OnePlus Nord CE 5G, the Nord N200 5G continues the brand’s recommitment to its original ‘Never Settle’ ethos.

“We’re continuing to bring affordable 5G devices without sacrificing premium specs,” OnePlus said in a statement.

Specs and features for the OnePlus Nord N200 5G include a 6.49-inch Full HD+ display with a 90Hz refresh rate, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 480 5G SoC, the aforementioned RAM and internal storage, a 5000mAh battery with a 18W fast charging, and Android 11 software with an OxygenOS 11 overlay.

The OnePlus Nord N200 5G triple camera set up includes a 13-megapiel main camera, 2-megapixel macro lens, and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. Meanwhile its front facing camera is a 16-megapixel lens.

The OnePlus Nord N200 5G will sell in a Blue Quantum color option.

The OnePlus Nord N200 5G follows the OnePlus Nord N105G and the OnePlus Nord N100, which launched internationally in October 2020 and in the U.S. in January. The Nord N105G was an LTE only device that sold for only $180, but with the Nord N200 5G, OnePlus has consolidated, seemingly dropping a device and its price point, seeing as the Nord N105G sold for $299.99.

Overall, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 480 5G chip sets the OnePlus Nord N200 5G up as an entry-level device. Still, such specs aid in keeping its price low, while retaining such coveted features as triple cameras and 5G.

Notably, the device comes in one RAM and storage option, which is on the lower end for the industry, during a time when brands have become accustomed to stuffing devices full of hardware to establish dominance. This likely another effort to keep consumer costs low.
