Samsung continues to promote its upcoming technology as the Korean manufacturer shared a teaser on Twitter Friday, indicating that it will be announcing its next mobile processor next week. The teaser is captioned “Intelligence from within,” and the chip will be announced on November 14.
This chip will likely power devices, including the Galaxy S10 and the Infinity Flex display. It will likely be called the Exynos 9820, as the chip in the current Galaxy S9 and the Galaxy Note 9 is the Exynos 9810.
Samsung’s Exynos brand of chips typically run in the international models of its high-end devices. Qualcomm will announce its own upcoming flagship processor, the Snapdragon 855, in December. That chip will likely run in the while North American, South American, and some European models of Samsung’s upcoming devices.
The Exynos 9820 is expected to use Samsung’s 7nm process for production to allow for lower power consumption and increased performance. The SoC may also include an AI chip and support for a 5G modem.
