The New Mac Pro is now official as Apple unveiled its latest computing powerhouse at the Worldwide Developers Conference keynote Monday. In companion, Apple also announced a new display, called the Pro Display XDR. The new high-end products come with hefty price tags to match their persnickety clientele. Aimed at professionals, such as artists, and developers, the products will be available this fall with the new Mac Pro starting at $5999 and the Pro Display selling for $4999.

Highlight features on the new Mac Pro include its 8-core Intel Xeon W processor, 32GB of system memory, a Radeon Pro 850X GPU and 256G SSD internal storage.

In its highest capacity configuration, the Mac Pro features a 28-core Intel Xeon W processor with 300W of power, up to 1.5TB of system memory, two AMD Radeon Pro Vega II Duo GPUs, and 4TB SSD internal storage. This set up has a host of bells and whistles, including Apple’s custom accelerator called, Afterburner and a ProRes RAW accelerator for video processing, as well as eight PCIe expansion slots, two Thunderbolt 3 ports, two USB 3.0 ports, a dual 10-Gigabit Ethernet port.

The new Mac Pro has a removable frame with a twist and turn handle that allows users to access the innards of the machine for configurations, as well as to easily move it around a workspace. The computer can also be outfitted with wheels for another mode of transportation.

The new Mac Pro Display XDR is a 32-inch LCD 6K Retina screen with a 6016×3384 resolution and 20 million pixel density that Apple has dubbed Extream Dynamic Range (XDR). It can sustain 1000nits of full-screen brightness and can reach up to 1600nits, featuring a 1 million to 1 contrast ratio. With the ability to daisy chain several Thunderbolt 3 ports, users can potentially connect up to six Pro Display XDR models to a single Mac Pro.

Accessories for the Pro Display XDR include a L-shaped stand, which will sell for $999. The stand features a dual-hinge design that allows for the adjusting of height and angle. Users can also rotate the stand to view the Pro Display XDR in portrait mode. Additionally, the VESA mounting bracket allows users to attach the Pro Display XDR to a wall, with a flexible mounting arm option for movement. It will be available for $199.
