Recently leaked renders could reveal that Samsung is using an interesting design feature from its budget Galaxy S10e model on the Galaxy Note 10.
Tech informants, Roland Quandt of WinFuture and Ishan Agarwal shared images of what is supposedly the Galaxy Note 10 Wednesday, primarily showcasing its silver and black color options. However, enthusiasts quickly noticed that the device has an updated button set up.
On several prior Galaxy handsets, we’ve been accustomed to seeing a power button on the right and the Bixby Button and the volume rockers on the left. However, these Galaxy Note 10 renders show only the volume rockers and a third button on the left side of the device. Many wonder whether Samsung has gotten rid of the Bixby button and moved the power button to the left side of the smartphone. Some others have pondered whether Samsung has gotten rid of the power button. It is likely that all buttons are still accounted for on the Galaxy Note 10; one of them may simply not readily visible from the renders.
Samsung Galaxy S10e inspiration
The Galaxy Note 10 could have a design similar to the Galaxy S10e, which has its power button on the right side of the device. However, it is slightly indented into the handset in order to house its capacitive fingerprint sensor. If true, this could bring up a host of questions about the Galaxy Note 10 and what Samsung has in store for its late-year flagship.
The renders show that the Galaxy Note 10 has no capacitive fingerprint sensor on its back panel, which automatically led many to believe that it would feature an in-display fingerprint sensor. However, rumors suggest that Samsung has plans to release multiple Galaxy Note 10 models, likely a standard version and a Galaxy Note 10 Pro or Plus. One of these models could be a price-conscious model, much like the Galaxy S10e, which could mean it may have a similar power button and capacitive fingerprint sensor set up on the right side of the device.
Perhaps Samsung is using the same indented power button on all Galaxy Note 10 models to keep the design language uniform while giving each version of the device its own unique features. This suggests that there could be a higher-end Galaxy Note 10 model with an in-display fingerprint sensor and a lower-end model with a capacitive fingerprint sensor, to keep its price slightly lower.
While the Galaxy S10e is cheap in comparison its Galaxy S10, Galaxy S10+, and Galaxy S10 5G siblings, it still sells for an eye-watering $749. The Galaxy Note 10 line has long been known as some of Samsung’s priciest devices, so the manufacturer could easily market a “slightly cheaper” Galaxy Note 10 capture loyal fans of the unique series.
What to expect at Samsung Unpacked
This explanation for the Galaxy Note 10 design has not been confirmed but it is viable considering the seemingly missing power button is a glaring alteration to Samsung’s typical design.

Due to the indentation, it is hard to see the Galaxy s10e button from the front. The same could be true about Galaxy Note 10 renders. There are profile images of the Galaxy Note 10 available, but they only show the device from its left side, which reveals, what is likely is Bixby button and volume rockers.
While there is still plenty of time for more Galaxy Note 10 details to surface, we will likely have to wait until Samsung’s August 7 Unpacked event to learn the truth about the Galaxy Note 10.
