“Samsung Galaxy S21 series color and price details circulate from multiple leaks”

The latest major Galaxy S21 series render leaks show several models in a number of color options, giving a clear look at what we can expect Samsung to announce in jusr a few weeks.

The first leak, showcased by Roland Quandt, reveals four color options for the standard Galaxy S21 and Galaxy S21+, which include Phantom White, Phantom Pink, Phantom Violet, and Phantom Black. Later, Evan Blass shared images of the handset from different angles, showcasing not only the rear, but also the display and sides of the smartphone as well.

Design-wise, we get an interesting contrast between the matte textured polycarbonate back panel and the glossy camera module, particularly for the standard Galaxy S21. It is likely the higher end models will use other matierials to justify a higher price. We also see a triple-lens rear camera setup for these models. Rumors have suggested the both models may feature a 12-megapixel main lens, a 12-megapixel ultra-wide lens, and a 64-megapixel telephoto lens.

Many feature details about the Galaxy S21 series are already commonly accepted. The standard model is expected to feature a 6.2-inch display and the Galaxy S21+ a 6.7-inch display. From the leaks we see a centered Infinity-O setup for the 10-megapixel front camera. These two models are also expected to feature flat displays, as opposed to the curved-edge displays, which have been Samsung’s premium device signature for several generations.

The curved display may live on with the Galaxy S21 Ultra, which was also leaked by Evan Blass in Phantom Silver and Phantom Black color options. The renders showcase the 6.8-inch display expected for the device that appears to fold over its sides. Still, the Galaxy S21 Ultra may also not get Samsung’s traditional Edge display, but rather the 2.5D glass display, which has become increasingly popular across the mobile industry. This type of display has a less prominent curve, allowing for more pixels to lay flat. While there has never been a major complaint about the logistics of curved displays, they do make devices more suseptible to damage when dropped.

We also we a glimpse of its large and intricate camera module, which houses a quad-lens set up. Already rumored is a 108-megapixel main lens, a 10-megapixel periscope telephoto lens, a 10-megapixel telephoto lens, and a 12-megapixel ultrawide lens, in addition to a 40-megapixel front camera.

Samsung Galaxy S21 series hardware and highlights

Other highlight features for the series include the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 chip and the Samsung Exynos 2100 chip, which will power models depending on their region. The device may include RAM up to 12GB and 128GB and 256GB internal storage options, with potential for a special edition with 512GB of internal storage.

The Galaxy S21 Ultra is slated to feature support for Samsung’s S-Pen styulus, which popularized the Galaxy Note series. However, the stylus remain an additional feature, with Samsung indicating it doesn’t have current plans to get rid of the Galaxy Note series, despite the insistence of several rumors.

Software-wise, the Galaxy S21 series is expected to run Android 11 with the latest Samsung One UI overlay. As per Qualcomm and Google’s latest announcement the devices may be among the first to support three years of major OS updates and four years of security updates.

Samsung Galaxy S21 series release date and price

Samsung has confirmed it has special announcments slated for January, which could back up the long rumored January 14 date for the Galaxy S21 launch. The series may be available for pre-order the same day, alongside the rumored Galaxy Buds Pro and may release to market on January 29.
