“Google’s Second-Gen Pixel Buds Reach End of Life”

It appears that Google’s second-generation Pixel Buds are no longer on sale in the U.S. and Canada.

Currently, listings at the Google store online show the Pixel Buds A-Series, which released a few weeks ago, available for $99. Meanwhile, the Pixel Buds image is shown, but the product page link is gone. Similarly, the Pixel Buds product page at Best Buy says the truly wireless earbuds are back-ordered.

Google told The Verge that the second-generation Pixel Buds are “out of stock in the Google Store in the US and Canada at this time,” adding that “some third-party retailers may still have inventory available and they remain on sale in other markets as inventory allows.”

While the brand has not overtly said that the PixelBuds are discontinued, it can be implied that it does not plan to replenish its North American supply.

Other markets, including Australia, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Singapore, Spain, and the U.K. currently still have the PixelBuds in stock, according to AndroidPolice.

The second-generation Pixel Buds were infamous for audio cut-out and other connection issues that made them virtually unusable despite Google’s many software update attempts to mitigate the problems.

Standing as Google’s first truly wireless earbuds, the second-generation Pixel Buds originally sold for $179.99.

The Pixel Buds A-Series was released as a more affordable truly wireless option. However, with rumors swirling about Apple’s AirPods 3 and Samsung’s Galaxy Buds 2, many wonder if Google will step into the game with a higher-end, third-generation Pixel Buds option.

One of the top trends among truly wireless earbuds is active noise cancellation, Phone Arena noted.
