MediaTek has confirmed that several hardware partners, including Oppo, Vivo, Xiaomi, and Honor will use its Dimensity 9000 SoC in smartphones releasing in the coming year.
The semiconductor manufacturer announced its first flagship tier chip last month, detailing that devices running the platform would begin to release in the first quarter of 2022.
So far, Oppo Vice President, Henry Duan said that the brand’s upcoming Find X flagship smartphone will be powered by the Dimensity 9000 SoC. Current rumors indicate that device might be the Oppo Find X4.
Xiaomi sub-brand, Redmi also plans to use the Dimensity 9000 in its Redmi K50 series, Xiaomi General Manager, Lu Weibing said.
Vivo and Honor did not share as much detail about their upcoming Dimensity 9000 products but did reiterate their commitment to their partnerships with MediaTek, noting that the devices will be 5G powered.
Reports have also indicated that Realme CMO Xu Qi Chase, has confirmed on the Chinese social media platform, Weibo that it’s brand will with the Dimensity 9000 on upcoming smartphones. Among those might be the Realme GT Neo3; however, this news does not come officially from MediaTek.
With the Dimensity 9000, MediaTek highlights such flagship specifications as its 18-bit HDR-ISP, which allows for camera support up to 320-megapixels, with 4K HDR Video and AI noise reduction; a 5G modem with sub-6GHz speeds to 7Gbps downlink using 3CC Carrier Aggregation (300MHz); support for 144Hz WQHD displays and 180Hz Full HD+ displays; connectivity features including Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and GNSS; and a 5G open-source architecture for developers to build on the brand’s tokened technologies.
