The smartphone is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 chip or the Samsung Exynos 2100 depending on the market. Its hardware includes 6GB and 8GB of RAM and 128GB and 256GB of internal storage; however, there is no expandable storage. The Galaxy S21 FE is a 4,500mAh cell with power for up to two days of use. It is supported by 25W fast charging, but the wall charger is now a sold-separately accessory. For software, the device runs Android 12 with a One UI 4 overlay.
The Galaxy S21 FE features a triple rear camera setup, including a 12-megapixel f/1.8 main lens with OIS, a 12-megapixel f/2.2 ultrawide lens, and an 8-megapixel f/2.4 telephoto lens with 3x zoom.
