“Preorders for Debut OnePlus Pad Now Available”

The OnePlus Pad is now available for preorder on Friday after being announced earlier this week. It is the first tablet in OnePlus’ device ecosystem, as the brand aims to expand its range beyond smartphones, into offering earbuds, watches, and TVs, among other products.

For its first foray into the tablet space, the OnePlus Pad will be available in a single Halo Green color option. Its display is an 11.61-inch IPS LCD display with a 2000 by 2800 resolution and 144Hz refresh rate. It also has 6.7mm bezels and an 88 percent screen-to-body ratio, with 2.5D rounded edges.

Powering the inaugural tablet is the MediaTek Dimensity 9000 chip, which runs on TSMC’s latest 4nm process. Its clock speed is 3.05GHz and the brand claims a 35 percent performance and efficiency increase in comparison to predecessors chips. Other hardware on the OnePlus Pad includes its 8GB and 12GB RAM options and 128GB and 256GB internal storage options. Using RAM-VITA technology, allowed users to keep up to 24 applications live in the background without affecting the performance of the tablet, according to OnePlus.

The tablet also includes a 9,510mAh battery with a 67W SUPERVOOC that supports a full charge in 80 minutes. The brand also claims the battery supports up to 12.4 hours of video and one month on standby.

Camera-wise, the device features an 8-megapixel front-facing camera lens and a 13-megapixel lens on the rear. Other notable features include its Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos support, as well as its proprietary Omni-bearing Sound Field technology, which allows the tablet to curate an immersive sound experience by identifying screen direction and projecting sound from the proper audio channels.

The OnePlus Pad will be able to connect to OnePlus smartphones, sharing cellular data, so users don’t have to invest in separate SIM cards if they don’t dire. This option allows users to connect to an alternate OnePlus device within a distance of five meters (16 feet).

The OnePlus Pad is now available for preorder in its 8GB RAM, 128GB storage model at OnePlus.com in the U.S. selling for $479. It will go on sale on May 8.

In the U.S. accessories include the OnePlus Magnetic Keyboard, which will sell for $149, the OnePlus Stylo, which will sell for $99, and the OnePlus Folio Case, which will sell for $39.

Other market availability includes Europe, Canada, and India, which might have different preorder dates, market release dates, accessories, and launch deals.
