There have been many rumors circulating about the Oppo Reno 3 Pro 5G and recent reports now confirm the smartphone will release with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G chip, in addition to a quad-camera set up and native ColorOS 7.
The details have surfaced in a press image live leak that reveals information not only about the Reno 3 Pro 5G but also about several other rumored devices from the brand. Oppo is set to have a major launch event in China on December 26, where the Oppo Reno 3 line and several other smartphone models are set to be unveiled.
However, the Oppo Reno 3 Pro 5G stands out as one of the first smartphones to run Qualcomm’s new mid-range 5G SoC. The coming year is expected to piggyback heavily on the 5G developments of 2019, with analysts projecting smartphone prices may drop as low as $300 to enable the next generation connectivity protocol. Currently, most 5G devices easily exceed $1,000. Devices, such as the Samsung Galaxy A90 stand as a budget level 5G smartphone, but this model, in particular, sells for approximately $740.
Some rumored specs for the Oppo Reno 3 Pro 5G include a 6.4-inch fullHD+ display, 8GB, and 12GB RAM options and 128GB and 256GB internal storage options, as well as a 4,025mAh battery.
The device is also set to feature a quad-camera set up with a 64-megapixel primary lens. Other cameras in the set up include a 13-megapixel lens, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide lens, and a 2-megapixel macro sensor. Video stabilization is expected to be one of the camera’s highlight functions.
Color options for the Oppo Reno 3 Pro 5G is set to come in up to five color option. Some include Moonlight White, Moonlight Black, Blue Starry Night, and Sunrise Impression.
The Oppo Reno 3 and the Reno 3 Pro are also set to launch alongside the Pro 5G model. They share many of the above-mentioned specs, though the Reno 3, in particular, is expected to run the MediaTek Dimensity 1000L chip to enable 5G.
Other devices set to launch at Oppo’s upcoming showcase include the Oppo A8 and the Oppo A91.
