Vizio HDTV owners can now cast Disney+ directly to their television sets through the brand’s streaming platform, SmartCast in the US, Canada, and Puerto Rico.

Vizio SmartCast TVs made as far back as 2016 will receive an over the air update to enable compatibility, allowing users to launch Disney+ from the SmartCast home screen. Users will also be able to subscribe to Disney+ on the SmartCast home page or through the SmartCast mobile app.

Before the update, Vizio owners could stream Disney+ through AirPlay 2 and Chromecast. Those streaming methods will still be available as the update has not yet made it to many other markets.

Disney+ supports 4K UHD and HDR video playback. Vizio SmartCast also supports voice assistants, including Siri, Google Assistant, and Alexa.
