LG’s is set to announce on September 14. the new device that has developed from its Explorer Project. The device is already confirmed as the LG Wing. While the brand has not yet revealed any details, there have been considerable leaks, revealing intricate details about the fascinating new form factor.
While most hardware manufacturers have decided to flip and fold when it comes to unique devices, LG has opted to spin, or rotate. The LG Wing starts out as a typical looking smartphone; however, users can rotate that display 90-degrees to reveal a more compact display in the back. Reports indicate the main display is 6.8-inches and the rear display 4-inches. A hands-on leak shows how the device can be used as a gaming handset or how the two displays can work in tandem to show multiple apps, which as driving directions and a music player.
Another last-minute leak before the launch shares details from a developer guide, which shows functionality options for the LG Wing. The handset can be used to display two different apps at the same time or to display one app in an extension mode, according to NextPit.
The YouTube and chat set up shows how extension mode works with one app, while the aforementioned navigation and music app or video streaming and shopping or advertisement shows how two apps can work at once.
Specs details for the LG Wing remain largely scarce. The device is expected to run the Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G chip to enable 5G. Pundits roughly guess it may have hardware along the lines of 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. More solid rumors indicate a triple rear camera set up with a 64-megapixel main sensor and 161.6 x 75.2 x 8.3 mm dimensions.
LG’s live stream launch event will take place on September 14 at 10 a.m. ET and can be viewed on Facebook as well as YouTube. Murmurs suggest the device will release to the market on October 5. It may sell for between KRW 1.09 million and KRW 2 million, which could be anywhere between $1,000 and $1,600 (€1,400). Price details, in particular, have yet to be confirmed.
