TCL has introduced its latest smartphone, an accessory accompanied product called the TCL Stylus 5G, which is available as of Thursday at T-Mobile and Metro by T-Mobile. The stylus featured device is available in a Lunar Black matte color option and will sell at T-Mobile for $258 and at Metro by T-Mobile for $269.
The TCL Stylus 5G is the brand’s first smartphone to include an integrated popup stylus. TCL notes the stylus’ ultra-low latency performance is not driven by a battery or Bluetooth, but the system as a whole coupled with the handset is powered by its 5G processor and A.I. technology. The stylus works with on-device apps and features, including write-to-text conversion with Nebo for the TCL app, while the MyScript Calculator 2 app helps users complete written calculations. Other functions include creating and storing e-signatures and unique gifs. The device also allows for quick functions, such as making notes over an idle screen or drawing doodles over a screenshot.
Hardware on the TCL Stylus 5G includes a 6.81-inch FHD+ display with a 20:5:9 aspect ratio and 1080×2460 resolution, the MediaTek Dimensity 700 5G chipset, 4GB of RAM, 128GB of internal storage, with expandable storage up to 2TB via MicroSDTM card, and a 4,000mAh battery.
The quad-camera system on the TCL Stylus 5G includes a 50-megapixel main lens, a 2-megapixel depth lens, and a 5-megapixel super wide-angle lens, and a 2-megapixel macro lens, in addition to a 13-megapixel front-facing camera with 1080p video.
Despite not including the TCL 30 branding the TCL Stylus 5G is technically a part of the device family for the U.S. market. Other models include the TCL 30 XL, TCL 30 5G, TCL 30 V5G, TCL 30 XE 5G, TCL 30 SE, and TCL 30 Z, which tell at a number of carriers and retailers.
