“Samsung Announces China Exclusive Foldables, W23 and W23 Flip”

Samsung is expanding its foldable branding with two devices that are exclusive to the Chinese market. The Samsung W23 and W23 Flip are available for preorder as of Friday, October 21 after being announced earlier this week. The devices officially go on sale October 28.

The foldables are the equivalent of the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Galaxy Z Flip 4 for western and other international markets with few key differences that allow for a bit of a price bump in comparison to the original model. In fact, the devices are the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Galaxy Z Flip 4 at their core, with a fancier exterior finish higher RAM capacity, SamMobile noted.

The Samsung W23 and W23 Flip include 12GB and 16GB RAM options and 512GB of . In comparison, the Galaxy Z Fold 4 features 12GB of RAM and 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB internal storage options, while the Galaxy Z Flip 4 features 8GB of RAM and 128GB, 256GB, and 512GB internal storage options.

Design-wise, the Samsung W23 and W23 Flip have a black ceramic exterior with aluminum hinges that have a stylish engraving. The sold separately S-Pen stylus is designs in a similar black and gold fashion to match the device, GSMArena noted.

In terms of software, the foldables also include several custom themes with the stock them taking inspiration from the Song Dynasty.

Otherwise all other features are identical to the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Galaxy Z Flip 4.

The Samsung W23 and W23 Flip will sell exclusively through the China Telecom carrier, with the Samsung W23 starting at 15,999 Yuan ($2,208) and the Samsung W23 Flip starting at 9,999 Yuan ($1,380).
